Most teams
returned to battle out the 2003 Pociatek Pohár for another year with ten
teams participating.
After
success in 2002, TIP had hoped they could perhaps match last year's
progress, however, they returned to standard practice and slumped in the
group stage. They gave eventual winners PWC a fright scoring three goals,
but unfortunately, it was not to be.
PWC won the
tournament by pushing aside newcomers BIS; who had a nice debut tournament
finishing 4th, in the semi finals and then going onto snatch the trophy
from the holders SEWS in the final; winning the penalty shootout. SEWS won
the shootout in the semis but could not hold their nerves for the final
shootout.
Plenty of
goals in this year's tournament. Wilderness notched up a record win
beating Dan Klub 10 - 1 in the group stage. The tournament's top goal
scorers (3) managed to strike the back of the net seven times each and
amazingly two of them were from one team - Wilderness; averaging 3.57
goals a game.
